Job Summary
- The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in food processing and packaging within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment.
- The role ensures efficient production output while maintaining strict compliance with food safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate food processing and packaging machines in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Set up, monitor, adjust, and safely shut down machines during production cycles.
- Ensure machines run at optimal efficiency to meet daily production targets.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production.
- Identify and resolve minor machine faults to prevent production interruptions.
- Record production data including output, downtime, rejects, and performance metrics.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and food safety requirements.
- Conduct routine checks (weight, sealing, labeling, packaging integrity).
- Report quality deviations or contamination risks immediately.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance of machines.
- Troubleshoot basic operational issues and escalate major faults.
- Support maintenance teams during servicing and repairs.
- Comply with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies and use PPE appropriately.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience operating production machinery, preferably in FMCG or food manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with VFFS, Powder Packing (Sachet), or Auger Filler machines is required.
- Basic understanding of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP).
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and safety guidelines.
- Candidates must have hands-on experience operating any of the following machines:
- VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) Machine
- Powder Packing Machine (Sachets)
- Auger Filler Machine
- The operator must ensure machines run smoothly, minimize downtime, and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
